The Rice Hut
Our
Rice Hut is styled after the small barns used in Northern Thailand to
store harvested rice. And we have completed a complete renovation and
enlargement.
The Rice Hut is built mostly of teak, with old teak floors, and one large room and is furnished with two twin beds. In
the living area of the cottage, there are rattan table and chairs, and
a floor lamp. The Rice Hut also includes a brass and rattan ceiling
fan, teak shelves and wardrobe, a refrigerator with mini-bar and
complimentary coffee/tea service, and also a television with DVD player
and satellite TV. The
western style ensuite toilet is finished with hand-glazed tile walls,
glass bricks, and has a gas hot water heater for the shower so there is
lots of hot water on a chilly Soppong morning. The Rice
Hut is at the top of our property, and all by itself – not near any
other rooms, with an adjacent parking space. The rate is 700
baht/night, or 4200 baht/week (the last night of a one week rental is
